Why bring rupiah with you
Indonesia still runs largely on cash. Warungs, street food stalls, markets, scooter rentals, drivers, temple entrance fees and tips are usually paid in rupiah, and cards are mostly limited to hotels, larger restaurants and malls.
Arriving with rupiah also means you do not have to rely on street money changers in tourist areas, where visitors are sometimes short-changed. If you do change money locally, use an authorized money changer and count your notes before you leave the counter.
Indonesian rupiah notes we sell
Indonesian banknotes are issued by Bank Indonesia. We sell rupiah in Rp100,000 notes, the largest note in circulation. You will receive smaller notes as change once you start spending in Indonesia.
Tip: rupiah prices have a lot of zeros. Rp100,000 and Rp10,000 notes are easy to mix up in a hurry, so check each note when you pay.

Indonesian rupiah is a currency for spending, not an investment product, and we do not give investment advice. Its value against the US dollar can fall, and our buyback rate is lower than our selling rate, so selling soon after you buy returns less than you paid. Be cautious of anyone promising a rupiah "revaluation" or guaranteed profit.

Your order ships once your payment clears: card payments clear in up to 72 business hours, check payments in up to 7 business days. Delivery then takes one or two business days, depending on the FedEx option you choose.

Is there a minimum order?
There is no minimum order. Larger orders need extra identity verification, and government reporting rules may apply.

Yes. We accept Visa and Mastercard credit and debit cards. Your card issuer may treat the purchase as a cash advance, so check with them first.

Do I need to be home to receive my order?
